Terms of Service
Last updated July 13, 2026
These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and Spectrum Labs LLC (“Spectrum Labs”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), a limited liability company organized in South Carolina, United States, and govern your use of Vibe Code Dev Story (the “Game”) and our related websites and services at vibecodedevstory.com and play.vibecodedevstory.com (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please don’t use the Services.
1. Eligibility and age
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. Where the law of your country or region sets a higher minimum age to use online services or consent to data processing (for example, up to 16 in parts of the European Economic Area), you must meet that higher age, or have your parent or guardian’s consent. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. The Game’s content is suitable for a general audience, but creating an account and making purchases require meeting these age requirements.
2. Your account
You can play anonymously without an account. Signing in is optional and uses a passwordless “magic link” sent to your email — keep access to your email secure, since anyone with your inbox can sign in as you. You’re responsible for activity under your account, and for providing accurate information. Accounts are for individuals; don’t share, sell, or transfer your account. Tell us promptly (via our contact page) if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
3. License to play
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment. The Game offers a free tier and an optional paid unlock. This license does not transfer any ownership of the Game or its content to you, and all rights not expressly granted are reserved.
4. Purchases, pricing, and taxes
Certain features are available through a one-time paid unlock (for example, the base-game unlock, offered at US$6.99 at the time of writing). Payments made on our website are processed by Stripe; we don’t receive your full card details. Prices are shown before you buy and may change over time; applicable taxes may be added. A purchase grants you an “entitlement” to the unlocked features tied to your account. If you buy the Game through a platform store (such as Steam, Epic, Apple, or Google, where offered), that purchase is also governed by the store’s terms, and the store — not us — handles billing and refunds for it.
5. Refunds and cancellation
Paid unlocks are digital goods delivered to your account immediately. Except where a refund is required by law or by the policy of the store you purchased through, purchases are generally final. If something goes wrong with your purchase, contact us through our contact page and we’ll try to make it right.
Consumers in the EU/UK: you normally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content. Because we deliver the unlock immediately, by completing your purchase you request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose this right of withdrawal once delivery has begun, to the extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable statutory refund or consumer rights you may have.
6. Fair play and leaderboards
Leaderboards and shared runs are meant to reflect real play. Results are verified on our servers by re-simulating your recorded moves, and we use automated checks to detect anomalies. To keep competition fair, we may flag, hide, or remove runs; exclude or reset entries; and suspend or terminate accounts that cheat, exploit bugs, use automation or unauthorized tools, or otherwise manipulate results. Rankings and scores are provided for entertainment and may be adjusted or reset at our discretion.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Cheat, exploit bugs, or use bots, scripts, or automation to gain an unfair advantage or manipulate leaderboards;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the Game or our servers, except to the limited extent the law expressly permits;
- Access the Services in an automated or abusive way, probe or bypass security, or disrupt or overload the Services;
- Use the Services for unlawful purposes, or upload or submit content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, harassing, or otherwise objectionable;
- Impersonate others, or choose a handle, initials, company, or founder name that is offensive, misleading, infringing, or impersonates someone else; or
- Resell, rent, or commercially exploit the Services without our written permission.
8. Names, handles, and your content
The Game lets you choose display text such as a public handle, initials, and in-game company and founder names. This information may be shown publicly (for example, on leaderboards, shared run cards, and your public profile). You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute this content as part of operating and promoting the Services. You’re responsible for the text you choose, and we may change or reclaim handles and remove content that violates these Terms.
9. Our intellectual property
The Game and the Services — including their software, code, design, artwork, text, cards, characters, and the “Vibe Code Dev Story” name and branding — are owned by Spectrum Labs LLC or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited license above, we grant you no rights in them, and you may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from them without our permission.
10. Availability and changes
We’re actively developing the Game and may add, change, suspend, or discontinue features (including leaderboards, purchasable content, and online services) at any time. We don’t guarantee that the Services will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free, and we may perform maintenance or impose limits. We’ll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes where practical.
11. Disclaimers
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will meet your expectations or be secure or error-free. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranty exclusions, so some of these may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Spectrum Labs and its owners and personnel will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Services. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Services in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including your non-waivable consumer rights.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Spectrum Labs and its personnel from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Services, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Services at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account through our contact page. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Services or other players. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) will survive.
15. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Except where prohibited by the mandatory law of your country of residence, you agree that the state and federal courts located in South Carolina will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, and you consent to venue there. If you are a consumer, you may also have the right to bring claims in the courts of your home country, and you keep the protection of mandatory consumer-protection laws that apply to you. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
16. Changes to these Terms; other terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Terms. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Services.
